Dheeraj Chawla did graduation in Engineering in the Electrical and Electronics branch. He is a Former Research intern at Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES).

He is the former Assistant Director, of the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Quality Council of India, an Autonomous body of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Government of India.

He is a qualified NABL Lead Assessor. He is faculty for various technical conclaves conducted across India. Did more than 50 assessments including final assessment, re-assessment, supplementary assessment, and Measurement audit as a NABL official.

He was involved in special projects in the field of Chemical Metrology, Solar Technology and System Laboratories, etc. He was the convenor of the Accreditation Committee Meeting for Testing and Calibration laboratories. He was also involved in Accreditation systems related to CAB accreditation (Testing & Calibration Laboratories) as per ISO/IEC 17025 and conducted an assessment at various stages of the accreditation process.

He was an active member and involved in the preparation of Specific Criteria documents like NABL-129 for Electro-technical, Mechanical, Thermal, and Fluid Flow calibration with inputs from various stakeholders. Conducted training program on the 3rd edition of ISO/IEC 17025: 2017. Organized awareness and training program on Uncertainty of Measurement for Mechanical and Electro-technical parameters.
